Smoking affects much more than your lungs. The chemicals in tobacco can also interfere with your mouth’s ability to stay properly hydrated. One common consequence is dry mouth, a condition that occurs when your mouth does not produce enough saliva. While dry mouth may seem like a minor inconvenience, it can create an environment where several oral health problems become more likely.
